/ OUR ETHOS

We put the human back in the AI machine.

We love what AI can do. It solves real problems fast, and we build with it every day. But it's not always the answer — and a lot of the industry is trying to remove people from the loop entirely. We think that's backwards.

/ WHAT WE BELIEVE

We start with your business problem. If AI is part of the solution, we build it to make your people more capable — not to replace their judgement.

  1. Evidence
  2. Judgement
  3. Recommendation
01

We recommend the boring answer when it's the right one

AI and cloud-native aren't always the fix. If a simpler solution solves your problem, we'll tell you — even if it costs us the engagement.

02

We build for your team, not for us

Every system we hand over should be one your people can understand, run and improve without us. We're not in the business of permanent dependency.

03

We start with evidence, not opinion

Every engagement — a health check, a code review, a migration — begins with understanding what's actually there before we recommend what to change.

/ WHAT WE WON'T DO

Where we draw the line

We won't recommend AI just because it's on the roadmap — if it doesn't move a real business metric, we'll say so.
We won't build you a black box. If a system makes decisions, someone on your team needs to be able to explain why.
We won't leave you locked in. Our architecture decisions are made so you can walk away from us if you need to.

/ OUR POSITION

An engineering consultancy for the AI era

The Cloud Practice designs, builds and modernises cloud platforms, custom software and AI-enabled solutions for organisations that need technology to solve real business problems.

We are not an AI hype consultancy. We are an engineering practice that uses cloud, software and AI where each creates genuine business value. AI is part of the toolkit, not the entire business.

We work with businesses that need a trusted technical partner — organisations that want technology to work reliably in production, not just in a demonstration.

/ Our approach

Start with the problem, not the solution
Design for production from day one
Recommend AI only when it genuinely helps
Build systems clients can own and maintain
Be honest about what is and is not possible

/ VALUES

How we think and how we work

Our Philosophy

Technology should solve business problems, not create new ones. Every engagement starts with understanding the problem clearly — not with assuming which technology to apply.

Engineering First

We are hands-on. We design, build and deliver. Our recommendations come from direct experience of building and operating production systems, not from theory.

Responsible AI

We recommend AI where it creates genuine value. If a simpler solution is better, we will say so. We have no commercial interest in recommending AI where it does not belong.

Built for Production

Architecture, security, delivery pipelines and operational support are considered from the start of every engagement — not added in as afterthoughts.

Long-Term Partnership

We aim to leave customers with systems they understand, own and can continue to improve — not systems that require permanent external support to keep running.

Have a technology problem worth solving?

Tell us what you're trying to build, improve or modernise. We'll help you work out the right path forward — and tell you honestly if AI isn't part of it.
